Prompt: Unknown
// Why is it that 'unknown' is such a scary word? What does
the unknown carry that gives it such power? For myself, I think it comes down
to the sense of having no control. How can you plan for the unknown? How can
you prepare in a way that lets you feel like you have a handle on the unknown?
If you know what’s coming, even if it’s a “bad” thing, you feel some amount of
control over the situation. You can’t even pretend to control the unknown. But since we don’t actually have any real control anyway, known or unknown, there’s really not a good reason to fear.
Because the
KNOWN is so big on the other side of the scale that the unknown never has a chance.
The Known is the object of our
hope and faith, not seen, but still Known. And so much bigger than the unknown.
